Ventilation (if you don't like dramatic rambling don't read"

My friend Andrew a quote posted on his blog a long while ago( http://randomexpression.blogspot.com/) that was in reflection on relationships...Thomas Edison 's reply to the question, "Mr. Edison, how can you continue to try to invent the light bulb when you have failed over 5,000 times." Edison replied, "I have not failed 5,000 times. I have successfully discovered 5,000 ways that do not work and I do not need to try them again." How true is this with men or women (depending on who you are) I have dated several guys…lacking in the relationship experience area…but dating I have done….dating is like sampling ice cream…(previous blog if I recall) the sad thing is I know what I want in a guys so I’m not really up for sampling any more I want a relationship that will be lasting, that will help me grow as a person. I want a relationship with a guy who understands my beliefs and me. “There are so many fish in the sea” I don’t like that quote cause it isn’t true…if it were true then my fishing skills would take over and I would have a bite by now. I wish I could see what God has in store for me…where is my path leading me? I want a guy who knows want they want…are there any? GRRR: Frustration noises.
So this weekend was ok…ok isn’t very descriptive is it? Well Friday night I went to Saw II I recommend it to any one that is over the age of 7 (I say this cause some messed up parents brought their child to the movie….not a good idea in my op.) then my friends and I went to a haunted house…which was great, seeing my co-worker dressed as a zombie and dancing to Thriller is priceless! Then I went to paddy’s then to micky’s….good times were had by all and I even got a piggy back ride up welch! It was a night well needed to celebrate my singleness once again….Saturday not so good, I did get to babysit so that was fun! Then I went dressed as a member of the mafia. I went to Sips which sucked then to micky’s to end the night….DRINKING TIP: drinking 5 glasses of water for a straight 3 hours will make you go to the bathroom a lot. Now for some reason I just feel sad. I have a hard time giving up on friendship….I have a friend who no longer wants to talk to me and it is hard to say that is it…because it is just over me not having romantic feelings for him and him not having the capacity to see us as just friends…..so all numbers deleted email address set aside….I’m at a loss for words and kind of sad. I have homework to do but all I want to do is sleep so I don’t have to think about my sucky life right now. I have never had a guy tell me they can’t be my friend…I have had several guys ask me out and on failing attempts with rejection we are all still really good friends. I just really wish things were different…I don’t like giving up, but that is what I had to do. ..I had to give up on a friend whom I talked with daily about life’s challenges…..grrrr I have a lot of frustration right now.
So earlier I brought up the quote from Thomas Edison….I had every intention of writing about the sermon lesson for today and the Reformation, but at my state of mind it wouldn’t have turned out positive….and the lesson on TRUTH and FREEDOM is something that you have to talk about in an positive state. Steven I know that you are reading this and http://www.livejournal.com/users/thinkteach/ when I’m thinking clearly I will respond to your blog….I encourage others to check it out. I do have some strong op. I will express later.
Well this is my life…this is my rambling venting.
I pray that you have a better week than I’m having!

Armor of GOD

My friend AT did devotion tonight on the body Armor of God:::: A pair of running shoe, camouflage Teflon vest, a white belt, a chair shield, and an army issued helmet oh and the bamboo looking sword. What a sight to see all on Jason! LoL :::: As funny as it all was it really made me think about how important it is to wear the armor of God everyday and not just be clothed in it every once in a while. Aaron said in addition to this is that we need to not just focus on playing a defensive battle because we are never going to be perfect or flawless, but we need to be on the offensive side and protect ourselves from those things that can come at us by getting to them first….what does this mean? We need to focus on the word of God and come to him with our problems, with our pain and he will help us strike back those things that can hurt us. What an awesome thing to remember….putting on the Armor of GOD everyday….it is much better than walking around naked.

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
19Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Brain Teasers

So I went on peer ministry calls with Aaron tonight..as we were walking down the hall to the last person on our list we say a flier that had questions on it.....it was calling our name....testing our minds so I thought I would share them with you.

1. What letter is like an island?

2. If a man was born in Greece, raised in Spain, came to America, and died in San Francisco where is he?

3. A doctor and a boy are fishing. The boy was the doctor's son, but the doctor was not the boys father. Who is the boys father?

Care to share with me what you think the answers are?

This was one of three random thoughts today!

DASH

With it being so close to Halloween it is only appropriate that our class take a walk through a cemetery. Walking through ISU’s cemetery I will admit was a nice field trip it explains a lot about the town I live in currently. We talked about the dash and how it is important to our life because that dash in between the date of birth and date of death is all about our life. That dash is really what defines us. I never really thought about it until today. How are you spending your dash?
How would you define the dash?

ps any one up for going out friday night give me a call!

Famous Last Words

"I just want to be friends"

Not only are they the famous last words to the shortest relationships I have ever had, but my quote of the day. I know I have said them many times….I know that those words hurt….most of the time however, when I say them I really do mean it and for lack of any better words ya just have to say them, but how do I know that is true for when other people say them? Hmmm? :::in deep though::::: Can you count in your lifetime the amount of times you have heard those words? What a crappy day this is. My sister stated in our phone conversation tonight “God has a plan for all of us…even you.” My response “I will be the Vice President of my friend Jill’s spinster club forever and ever minus the cat.” What do I intend to do now….well starting Thursday and Friday and Saturday maybe even Wednesday….getting trashed it is! Lol j/k I’m going to go for many a runs around the track.

What's in your pocket?

Do you ever put on a pair of jeans, reach into the pocket, and realize last time you did laundry you washed a dollar or two in the pocket. Isn't it an exciting find? You know you have all done it....if not a pair of jeans maybe a purse or a coat.....I know you know what I'm talking about tho. Well today it was a little colder in the morning than it has been...or so it appeared with the frost on my car windows. I put on a winter coat I had not worn since last winter and as I was walking down the hall I went to see if I had gloves in my pocket....nope.....didn't find money either. Instead I found a big plastic beetle....oh what a gift. There's nothing like finding a big black (fake) bug in your pocket at 6:20 in the morning. (just for the record I didn't freak out) It was just a little surprising. Which got me thinking on my short drive to work. How many days are we surprised by something so small....shouldn't we be? Look at all the amazing things God has created and there is something new and different everyday....do we ever take a step back to appreciate them?

Mission Impossible

I was looking through my agenda book today and was focusing on all the things I have to do in October and realized that it is almost half over....meaning one more month until I'm 23 and 2 more months until I'm student teaching....wow! In the wonderful organized mess of a book was a question that was well typed at the bottom of the page that reads " if i had to write a one-sentence mission statement for lmy life, what would it be?" I hadn't really thought about that before...I have thought about my purpose here and as a teacher I know I'm going to need a mission statement for my classroom, just like i had one when I was coaching. Why should it be any different with my mission statement in life? hmmmmm ::::thinking of what my mission statement could be:::::::it is taking longer than I thought:::::::hmmmmmm
ok so my mission statement in life is
"I am who I am and nothing less, I will not change for anyone, but am molded by everything."
What about your mission statement?

Hope everyone is doing well, have a great week!

God Bless,
Kris

Focus for week: serving others....how do we serve others? (sunday school topic of last week :-) )

Question of the Day!

Yesterday Jodi talked about her trip with IOWAY this summer....she asked the question.... "where did you see Jesus today?" So I ask you the same question, some days get so busy and we have such heavy burdens that we don't take the time to see the whole picture to see those who enter our lives daily like Christ. So where did you see Jesus today?

I answer that question with a smile....I saw Jesus in the lady that visited my multicultural class today. She was visiting our instructor and I got a chance to talk to her about ASP and the mission trip to Kentucky I took last spring....she has been out in that direction several times and she seemed to talk so passionately about it. I saw Jesus in the thank yous and hugs constantly coming from one little boy named matt this afternoon..... I love hugs!

Where did you see Jesus today, yesterday?

Congrats to Taylor and Anne in their engagement! May God Bless your lives together through your love in Christ.

Prayer

hey,
I know I know, I don't have the internet working at home so I'm sorry if you try to look for something to read some days and there is nothing here that is to your liking.....well I'm not going to write anything thought provoking today either....cause I'm short on time but thanks to those loyal readers who check my blog daily.....just so I don't leave you today without some useful information here it is....
....
.......
...........still reading?....
......
........
.........
I was teaching Sunday school the other day (I teach 1st graders) and I held in my hand a cell phone. We talked about how with God there is never a busy signal, missed calls, loss of signal, answering machines, voice mails, you never get put on hold when you are talking to Him and they will never hang up on you or mute you. Our daily conversations with God are important with out communication where would we be with one another....where would we be with God. I encourage you to pray. What do you pray for? Is there a certain way to pray? those are questions I asked my students....they replied "you can pray for your mommies," you can pray to get well," "you can pray for the sun," and the best one..."you can pray for everything." how do they think they have to pray...."before we eat..." "before bed....." "at church," and the best answer given was ....? "any time, any place" How cool is that! How awesome that when we need some one to talk to ...(besides talking to yourself) we can turn to him with our thoughts, questions, thanksgivings, request. Wow!

Have you talked to God today?

Have a great rest of the week….!

God Bless
